One of the things God hates is “A lying tongue,” (Prov. 6:17b) for the God of heaven is the source of truth (John. 8:40) and Satan is the source of lying “You [liars] are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He [Satan] was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth [hates God’s word], because there is no truth in him [but full of lies]. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources [Satan], for he [Satan] is a liar and the father of it.” (John. 8:44). Therefore “let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous, just as He is righteous. He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.” (1 John. 3:7-8).
God wants us to worship Him “in spirit and truth.” (John. 4:24), He will not accept vain worship. There is too much assumption on the subject of worship, for the denominations are lying by saying that the way you worship does not matter. But the God of heaven says it matters. See what happened to the sons of Aaron “Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before the Lord, which He had not commanded them. So fire went out from the Lord and devoured them, and they died before the Lord. And Moses said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke, saying: ‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; And before all the people I must be glorified.” (Lev.. 10:1-2). Folks the use of the “profane fire before the Lord” was wrong for the Lord had already specified the kind of fire He wanted to be used, “burning coals of fire from the altar” (Leviticus. 16:12) and these men did not use that and that is why the fire they used was called “profane fire before the Lord” (Lev. 10:1).
True worship of our God seeks to please God not men “But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” (Heb. 11:6) and this faith is not just faith, but faith that comes from His word “faith comes by hearing the word of God.” (Rom. 10:17). That is a saving faith. We need to understand that situation or circumstance does not negate God’s commandments, “And when they came to Nachon’s threshing floor, Uzzah put out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen stumbled. Then the anger of the Lord was aroused against Uzzah, and God struck him there for his error; and he died there by the ark of God.” (2 Sam. 6:6-7). God demands exact obedience upon those “who does the will of” God (Matt. 7:21).
God does not work as men may want. Men are trying to make their ways of being saved. Do not forget Naaman’s case who tried to tell God how he wanted to be treated “But Naaman became furious, and went away and said, “Indeed, I said to myself, ‘He will surely come out to me, and stand and call on the name of the Lord his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leprosy.” (2 Kings 5:11). Where is mourner’s bench? Where is faith only? Where is once saved is always saved? Folks be ready to remain faithful even if you are remaining alone (Gen. 7:23), remain with the truth, “You shall not circulate a false report. Do not put your hand with the wicked to be an unrighteous witness. You shall not follow a crowd to do evil; nor shall you testify in a dispute so as to turn aside after many to pervert justice” (Ex. 23:1-2).
Jeremiah warned the people about trusting the lying and this is still true with us Christians. Jer. 7:1-11 “The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord, saying…Hear the word of the Lord, all you of Judah who enter in at these gates to worship the Lord!” (v. 1-2).
Folks there is possibility for you repent even if you have been believing lying, for God says, “Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.” Correct your ways, if you have been told that it is salvation by faith only, the Lord of host says something more than faith only “He who believes [faith] and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” (Mark. 16:16). Jeremiah went on saying “Do not trust in these lying words” (v. 4). Believing lies will not give you good time to stay with God eternally for you will not “dwell in this [His] place.” And do not “trust in lying words that cannot profit. (v. 8).
By believing lies you are corrupted (Gal.. 1:6-9) and you will never see the face of God. Remember those who are going round with lies are saying they have God but that is not true “Will you steal, murder, commit adultery, swear falsely, burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods whom you do not know, and then come and stand before Me in this house which is called by My name, and say, ‘We are delivered to do all these abominations’?” (Jer. 7:9-10). God’s house is very special and has a spiritual purpose not as false teachers do think of the church of Christ which is the house of God “Has this house, which is called by My name, become a den of thieves in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it [God has seen how men have messed up teaching wrong things claiming to be true],”says the Lord” (v. 11). Folks the church of Christ is, “the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” (1 Tim. 3:15).
Your soul is very important, “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matt. 16:26), why choose to trust in lying? “Test all things; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.” (1 Thess. 5:21-22).
