We want to teach. That’s why we present biblical information every time we use this space. Sitting in a church building won’t get you to heaven, but learning and practicing the truth will.
“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,” (John 8:31-32).
If you want to become a disciple of Jesus and go to heaven, you have to learn.
“No man can come to me except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, and they shall all be taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me,” (John 6:44-45).
That’s why we teach. We want you to know the truth and go to heaven.
Sometimes, teaching the truth requires us to write things that some of you disagree with. If we ever publish something that is unbiblical and untrue, we want you to tell us about it. That’s one of the reasons we give our contact information.
We know we risk angering readers by teaching plainly what the Bible says about moral and doctrinal issues. Paul ran into this problem in Galatia. “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth,” (Gal. 4:16)?
But we’re willing to take this risk because we love your souls. We want you to hear the truth about what to do to be saved, how to worship, the church, morals and more.
It’s increasingly rare to see plain old teaching articles in public anymore. Just explaining the Bible. Maybe the perceived “gain” isn’t worth the effort, or maybe groups don’t want to risk hurting anyone’s feelings.
We at the church of Christ don’t want to make anyone angry either. We’d be tickled if everyone in town loved us. But we’re willing to risk stepping on toes in order to present the truth and give people the chance to be saved and go to heaven. We do it because we love the truth, we love Jesus, and we love you.
